Reflection
Experience
My experience with this module was a wild, but overall very enjoyable one.
The learning curve was definitely tricky to adapt to in the beginning,
especially with making sure the e-portfolio met every requirement while
also having to write down notes for multiple lectures in bulk. I was
definitely nervous and constantly questioning how good I was however the
frequent feedback sessions really held me accountable, to not only
complete my tasks on time, but to also be able to come up with my own
judgement of my work (although I still had so much to learn).
Observation
Once again I have to bring up my newfound realisation and appreciation of
how much work has to go into typography. I'm also grateful at how, while
it can be so detail-orientated and tricky, it still has been decently
malleable enough to allow me to create the work that I have, even if there
are many things that could be improved.
Findings
I've found that the skills I've acquired through Typography, can also be
applied to my other modules. Not just about design principles but also
about using different kinds of Adobe softwares that I thought I would
continue hating for the rest of my life due to having no clue on how to
use any of the tools. Additionally, I now find myself always questioning
choices of various logos and store titles. As in, why did they make those
specific letters italic? What meaning were they trying to convey? WERE
they trying to convey something? Why did they choose to go with that
colour? Why were those lines added? Why that specific font? etc. It's
actually quite entertaining, especially if you've got nothing better to do
than sitting and staring in a cafe.
