INSTRUCTIONS

BEEF Production

For the production, I was the Director of Photography, meaning that I was in charge of recording the clips and framing the compositions of the shots like it was in the storyboard.
It was a pretty difficult job since I was mainly standing the whole time and in some of the scenes we couldn't figure out the right lighting or settings.

TikTok Proposal

My idea for the TikTok video was to focus on a typical week in my life. I also determined which songs I wanted to use for the video and I decided to go with Alex G, but I hadn't finalised which song specifically would fit the vibe I wanted. I then found some pictures for my moodboard and also used those photos in my storyboard.

After making my storyboard, I started filming. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to capture some clips that I initially wanted to include since it was difficult for me to get the materials or make plans to go somewhere since I don't have my license or anyone to help accompany me and film.

After all my clips were filmed, I edited them in CapCut since it was easier for me to use than Premiere Pro. For the song, I went with 'Poison Root' by Alex G. I placed a new clip on a different beat so that it followed the audio.

For the beginning of the video, I added some text and used a typing effect. I also left the audio for the first clip since I felt like it really helped make the vibes I was going for.

I also added a fade transition to the end of the audio.

REFLECTION

My experience with this project was pretty positive. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to film enough clips for my TikTok video but in the end I'm happy with what I made and it definitely has the vibe and idea that I originally planned and wanted. The BEEF production was really fun as well, I really enjoyed my role.

I observed that you should probably come up with backup plans just in case your original plan doesn't work out the exact way you wanted it to. I also found that I really, really enjoy filming but that I don't particularly like editing everything together in the end. It was a bit difficult trying to fix the lighting in some clips because we filmed it in a pretty dark environment.
