INSTRUCTIONS

EXERCISE 1: CARD SORTING

During week 5, we separated into small groups and did an activity called 'card sorting'. The type of card sorting we did was open. 

We wrote down the features on sticky notes and then began trying to sort them into similar categories. Our group started by sorting the cards in order of planning a trip. However, we weren't sure how many categories we were allowed to have at first and it was a bit difficult trying to figure out what to label each one.

After some time we managed to sort the cards out into five categories; Research, Planning, Travel Tools, Finance, and Lifestyle. Then, we were asked to create a new category and add new features to it. Our group decided to add a category for transportation and the features were bus lines/schedules, taxi services, car rentals and train lines/schedules.

After we sorted all our cards, we presented it to the whole class and gave our reflections on the activity.
