Final Compilation
Then, I moved onto the high-fidelity prototype! I stuck with the colours
that I used on the packaging design for cohesion. I'm not going to lie, the
logo in the navigation bar was really hard to size so that it could be
readable but also not force me to make the header super big. In the end I
decided to just go with the really big navigation bar.
INSTRUCTIONS
Down below is a google document of everything that was done during this
module. I wrote literally everything so it technically is my blog!

LANDING PAGE
For the landing page I looked at some inspiration from https://dribbble.com/tags/food-landing-page
I then went straight into Figma and tried working out the flow of the
webpage. I've designed one micro-site before so I roughly knew what to
include.
I also added pages for purchasing the product and settled on the
low-fidelity prototype.
The elements still in gray is for the mockup that Hisham is going to make so
I had to wait until he was done.
Once the mockup was finished I went in and separated the lid and container
body to edit it in the way I sketched in the prototype. I just used
Procreate for this.
I also added new sub-sections to the landing page after consultation so that
it would include the problems people currently face, how CanaiCrave can
solve them and testimonials. I also felt like the design was lacking so I
added some random curves to introduce more movement and dynamism, as well as
to fill up the empty space. I did try incorporating a batik design but it
looked way too busy.

REFLECTION
Boy...how do I even begin to talk about my experience with this. While it
was really daunting to be the person that had to take care of the meeting
minutes and discussions, I definitely learned a lot about communication
and misunderstandings. I can't say that this was a really positive
experience for me, because it really wasn't, and I definitely felt like
ripping my hair out multiple times. I'm glad that I had the experience?
But I really wish that it didn't go the way it did.
I felt as though the business team definitely had a bad impression of our
design team due to the quality of some of the designs but that was not in
my control. As the name of the module suggests, this was supposed to be a
collaborative project, not just with the business faculty but also within
our specialisations. However, it's really hard to collaborate when getting replies from members is very sparse. There were times when I would get a reply
back but it quickly evaporated after a few weeks and I'd have to keep
pinging and asking for updates.
I understand that it really is just how the world is sometimes and you
can't expect to have a positive relationship and experience with the
people you are working with but I feel like I've learned this lesson a
million times over and I am frankly exhausted.
Anyways...Focusing on the final outcomes itself I am quite happy with what
I've made. I do think the sticker design could have been more related to
the sleeve but it was not possible for me to do polished designs of BOTH
the sleeve and the sticker in the span of 3 days. Because 3 days is
literally all we had. I really like the incorporation of the batik design
into the packaging and I'm glad I made myself hand-draw a custom pattern. For the logo design, it was a little scary as I've had very minimal experiences with making one but the final design ended up being okay!
To summarise, communication is a two-way street and always record your
meetings for clarity sake.
