Task 2
This week we had a lecture and also consulted about our group and individual
tasks.
User Personas
Fictitious characters put together by product, design, and marketing teams
to represent the types of people that could be users
Why?
Focus more on creating designs with the user in mind
2 Types of Personas
Marketing targeted personas that model purchase motivations
Interactive personas that are modelled towards usage behaviours
Week 4
This week was a public holiday so we had a short online consultation about
our assignment.
Week 5
This week we had a lecture and me and Hui Yi had a meeting to sort and
summarise the affinity diagram. We also started on our user personas.
Week 6
It was submission week for our task 2.
INSTRUCTIONS
TASK 2
Task Deliverables:
1. User Personas
2. User Empathy Map
Our team first had 3 user personas in mind which were separated by age and
occupation. However, after consulting with Dr. Wong we reduced it to just
2, which was helpful as our third group member was MIA.
Each user persona was established from our summarised user interview
synthesis.

From there, we filled out the User Persona template. Hui Yi handled the
student persona and I did the alumni persona.

Afterwards, we created empathy maps for each persona.

REFLECTION
This task wasn't that difficult as I've already had multiple experiences creating user personas. It was actually the first time that I've made a user empathy map though so I'm glad I learnt something new. I was a little worried about my group member as she suddenly disappeared and was unavailable to contact though but it's been resolved.
